LeGarrette Blount On Richard Sherman: 'He's Going To Have To See Me On Sunday'

CHANDLER, Ariz. (CBS) -- Talk, the saying goes, is cheap.

And though LeGarrette Blount has engaged in some talking this week, he clearly believes in the mantra.

The Patriots running back made headlines Tuesday for saying that the Seahawks are "not immortal" and "can be beaten." Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman shot back on Wednesday, saying Blount is correct about the Seahawks' mortality while adding an insult that Blount never made.

"He said we can't tackle him? That an opinion," Sherman said. "Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. That's perfectly fine."

So on Thursday, on the final day of media availability with the players, Blount was asked for one final retort.

"I didn't hear anything that he said," Blount said of Sherman. "I don't really pay attention to what those guys say. I just know that he talks a lot of trash. It doesn't bother me. He's going to have to see me on Sunday. I'm going to have to see him. We're going to see just how much he can bring to the table."

Them's fightin' words.

These two players have a history. They went back and forth on Twitter last March, after Blount declared Aqib Talib to be the best cornerback in the game. What followed was an elementary schoolyard fight, with Sherman writing, "I just totally lock down one [receiver]! And pick off passes that come over there…. Rarely ever giving up completions."

With no resolution in sight, and with Blount still fervently arguing that Talib was better, Sherman dropped the line, "Did that help y'all win the bowl or nah?"

The Patriots, of course, did not win that Bowl. But this year, Blount has it in his power to help get that done ... and it seems as though he'd like to run right through Sherman to do it.
