Keene Police Conclude Riot Investigation

KEENE, N.H. (CBS) – Police have concluded their investigation into October's riots surrounding the Pumpkin Festival in Keene.

Police announced Thursday that Seth Kuta, 21, of Savoy, Mass., was arrested in December and Kevin Valerio, 22, of Hastings, N.Y., was arrested on January 16.

Valerio's arrest was the 21st and likely final post-riot arrest since the October 18 and 19 incidents. Keene police said an estimated 70 people were also arrested during the riots.

Kuta and Valerio were each charged with disorderly conduction for allegedly throwing beer cans on Blake Street during the riots.

Kuta pleaded guilty and was fined $500. Valerio will be arraigned on March 5.

Police identified and arrested the 21 suspects in the aftermath of the riots thanks to photographs and tips from residents.

In total, Keene police and New Hampshire State Police spent more than 500 hours investigating the incident and making arrests.
