Bruins Recall Rookie David Pastrnak

BOSTON (CBS) -- David Pastrnak is back with the Boston Bruins.

The team recalled their first round pick in the 2014 NHL draft on Tuesday, GM Peter Chiarelli announced on Tuesday. Pastrnak will join the team for practice on Tuesday at TD Garden and travel with the team to Pittsburgh for Wednesday night's game against the Penguins.

The 18-year-old rookie is fresh off playing for the Czech Republic in the World Juniors tournament, where he led the team in points (seven) and assists (six), while scoring one goal.

Pastrnak has appeared in five games for Boston this season, making his NHL debut against Pittsburgh back on November 24.  The forward picked up his first NHL point and assist on December 1, helping on Brad Marchand's second period goal against the Anaheim Ducks.

In 24 games with Providence of the AHL this season, Pastrnak recorded 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points with a plus-14 rating. His 10 goals and 27 points lead Providence, while his 17 assists rank second the team.
