Woman Escapes Knifepoint Attack In Mattapan

BOSTON (CBS) – Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted at knifepoint Thursday night.

According to Boston police, a woman was walking near Norfolk and Hosmer Streets at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday when a man came up from behind her and brandished a knife.

The suspect allegedly tried to force the victim down an alley. The woman fought back, wrestled the knife from her attacker and screamed, causing the suspect to run.

Police said the man ran down Hosmer Street, turning right onto Norfolk Street in the direction of Mattapan square.

The man is described as black, between 18 and 22 years old, and about 5'7" with a slim build. At the time of the attack the man was wearing a Northface jacked with a hood over his face, police said.
