Officer Injured, Police Cruiser Heavily Damaged In Douglas Crash

DOUGLAS (CBS) -- A Douglas police officer was hurt when he collided with another driver at an intersection Saturday night, officials said.

Douglas police said Officer Jake Schultzberg was traveling east on Route 16 Main Street when another vehicle traveling west tried to take a left onto Southeast Main Street. Both the police cruiser and the other vehicle were heavily damaged in the crash.

The officer was taken to a local hospital and released with minor injuries, while two people in the other vehicle were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.
