Travelers Unhappy With JetBlue Changes

BOSTON (CBS) - Isabelle Atkinson and her friend Sydni Arnett were getting on a JetBlue flight to Las Vegas Wednesday night. It's the only airline they fly.

"I like that they have TV, WiFi and more leg room," Atikinson says.

The airline has built a brand people love. From extra leg room and TV's to the no fees for bags.

But starting in 2015, JetBlue is getting on board with their competitors. Soon your bags will cost you. And that leg room? It's getting tighter. They plan to cram in 15 more seats.

Let's just say the news is causing major turbulence.

"I think it's absurd," Atkinson says. "They already make a ton of money, already more expensive, I think it's a little crazy."

Sydni Arnett says, "The customer is always right and we don't want those fees we want a free first bag, I want my extra leg room."

Anne Banas is the Executive Editor of Smarter Travel and she says, yes, it is bad news for both travelers and JetBlue.

"This really does change the image and puts them on the level of all the other legacy air carriers," Banas says.

Experts say it's a trend here to stay and your only choices now are pay up or pack less.

JetBlue won't say what the fees will be, but they begin in the New year.
