Woman Fatally Stabbed In Lowell

LOWELL, Mass. (CBS/AP) — Police are investigating a fatal stabbing in Lowell.

Officers responding to a Temple Street address at about 8 p.m. Monday found the victim.

The 18-year-old woman was taken to a city hospital and pronounced dead.

The Middlesex District Attorney's office identified the victim on Tuesday afternoon as Charlene Ngeth of Lowell.

Police also said a 25-year-old man was seen in an area emergency room and they believe he was stabbed at the scene where the woman was found dead. His name has not yet been released.

There was no word on arrests.

City and state police are investigating, but they said it does not appear the incident was random.
