NH Driver Hospitalized, Charged With Aggravated DWI After Crash

HUDSON, N.H. (CBS) – A 20-year-old New Hampshire suffered life-threatening injuries and will be charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated following an early morning crash in Hudson, N.H.

Hudson police said they responded to a crash on Wason Road near Burns Hill Road just before 6 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The driver of a 2002 Dodge Stratus had crashed into a tree in the area, causing John Lloyd, 20, of Pelham, N.H., to become trapped.

According to police, a 15-year-old from Pelham was a passenger in the car, while two other people ran from the area before police arrived.

Lloyd was extricated from the car and transported by ambulance to Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center in Nashua with life-threatening injuries. He was then transported to Mass General Hospital in Boston in critical condition.

Police do not believe that the people inside the car were wearing seat belts.

As a result of the crash, Lloyd was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated, which he will be arraigned on at a later date.

In addition, police said the passengers in the car may face charges as well.
