Police Investigate Suspicious Item At Haverhill Train Station

HAVERHILL (CBS) – A suspicious device caused a scare at a Haverhill train station Friday morning.

The MBTA Transit Police Explosive Detection Unit responded to Bradford Station after a metal container was found near a trash bin.

The container was later determined to be a "sterilizer type device" and was empty.

Two Commuter Rail trains were affected by the investigation that lasted approximately two hours.
