Marcus Smart Invited To USA Select Team

BOSTON (CBS) -- The summer just got a little busier for Celtics rookie Marcus Smart.

Smart has been invited to attend the USA Basketball training camp in Las Vegas, according to multiple reports.

As a member of the USA Select Team, Smart and others will practice with the national team roster in drills and scrimmages during the three-day camp, which begins in late July.

Smart is one of six players invited to the camp on Friday, which also includes 2014 first-rounder Doug McDermott, 2013 second-overall pick Victor Oladipo and 2011 first-rounder Tobias Harris, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. Miles and Mason Plumlee were also invited on Friday, according to Wojnarowski.

Smart and McDermott also participated in the camp last year.

Attending the camp means Smart will get a chance to practice with, and compete against, some of the best point guards in the league, including Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry.
