BOSTON (CBS) – The debate over climate change has become more intense than ever, with both sides digging in as they try to have their voices heard. On one hand, a vast majority of the scientific community believes that humans are, in fact, affecting the climate on Earth with potentially devastating consequences. But some, like MIT Professor Richard Lindzen, believe the academic community has jumped in head first without actually checking the water. Those who refute climate change are shunned from academic circles, yet there is still so much unknown about both our effect on the environment and the best way to stop or reverse it. Professor Lindzen sits down with Dan to talk about why he thinks the academic community and the political realm need to slow down before making wholesale changes to policy and lifestyle.
