BOSTON (CBS) -Michael Pina of Sports on Earth joined Adam Kaufman on 98.5 The Sports Hub Monday night to discuss topics revolving around the NBA, including Rajon Rondo’s future with the Boston Celtics and much more.

Pina’s impressions of the Celtics draft:

“I like Marcus Smart and believe he’ll be a really good pro. And I really like what they did at no. 17 with James Young, who could develop into a second or third scoring option for the team.”

As for Rondo and Marcus Smart playing together:

Pina believes that it is possible even with both of them being point guards. However, the floor spacing could become a noticeable issue with two guards in the backcourt who struggle shooting the ball.

Kaufman asks the question on whether Rondo is truly deserving of a max contract:

“I’d say no, he’s 29-years-old and will be on the wrong side of 30 at the end of the contract.”

The Miami Heat Ripple Effect:

One of the biggest stories floating around the NBA is the situation in Miami, and this could become more complex with reports surfacing that LeBron James wants a max contract, possibly affecting the financial decisions of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
