BOSTON (CBS) – Michael Felger is all in on the Patriots defense in 2014 for one reason and one reason only: Darrelle Revis.
Once a division foe, Revis is now the cornerstone of a defense and a team with Super Bowl aspirations. Bill Belichick has said time and time again that stats are for losers, but one stat he pays particular attention to on defense is points allowed.
Felger thinks with Revis, and to a lesser degree Brandon Browner, that the Patriots will be a top five team in that category, and he’s so confident in his prediction that he’s even made a friendly wager with CSNNE colleague Bob Neumeier.
Tony Massarotti is still concerned about the safety spot, but Felger says you can easily hide that problem with a cornerback of Revis’ caliber.
