Woman Struck And Killed By Vehicle In Sharon

SHARON (CBS) – A 20-year-old woman died of injuries she suffered Sunday afternoon when struck by a motor vehicle on Hampton Road in Sharon.

The accident occurred about 4:30 on Hampton Road near the intersection with Dogwood Road, the Norfolk District Attorney's office reported.

The woman was taken to Norwood Hospital, where she died.

An initial investigation indicates the woman may have been out for a run when she was hit.

Some family members were with the woman at the hospital, but her name is being withheld pending notification of additional family.

Officials said the vehicle involved in the accident appeared to be a white Ford Explorer.

Sharon police, state police and the Norfolk District Attorney's office are investigating.

No further information was available on the accident.
