Woman Attacked Near N. Quincy MBTA Station; Police Patrols Increased
QUINCY (CBS) – Police are adding patrols to an area near North Quincy MBTA station after a woman was allegedly attacked early Saturday morning.
The victim told police she had walked from the station to Botolph Street, about a half-mile away, when a man came up from behind and grabbed her.
She managed to punch and kick the attacker to fight him off and run home.
Officials say she didn’t report the crime until about five hours later and was unable to give a good description of the suspect to police.
“She wasn’t injured. She did say if he wanted to he would have been able to get her purse. So that concerns us,” Quincy police Lt. Richard McCusker said.
“He attacker her from behind. Grabbed her around the mouth, around the waist.”
McCusker would not get into specifics but he said police have increased their presence in the area.
