BOSTON (CBS) – 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak discuss a recent Ron Borges article, where the Herald writer yearns for the days before our teams started winning championships.
Not necessarily the losing, but the mindset.
The mindset of the New England fan base was much different before 2001, when the Patriots upset the Greatest Show On Turf in Super Bowl XXXVI. Before then, we were happy and grateful just to make the playoffs, whereas now we get ticked off when we don’t win championships.
Gresh references the 2013 Red Sox and how lackluster a season and World Series run it was, which was probably due in part to the Bruins and their long Stanley Cup run that went way into June.
