12 Injured After Dorchester House Explosion

BOSTON (CBS) - Twelve people were injured after an explosion at a Dorchester home Wednesday night.

Boston Fire says that the explosion caused a partial collapse of the two and a half story home at 27 Hansborough Street.

The fire was on all floors of the house when firefighters responded at 9:20 p.m. The fire was extinguished by 10:45 p.m.

Firefighters say the cause of the explosion appears to be natural gas.

Boston EMS says those who were injured were residents of the home. Two elderly residents were taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution.
