BOSTON (CBS) – Government Center Station will close for two years beginning on March 22.
The MBTA says the closure will allow for station upgrades to make it fully accessible, safer, modern and more comfortable.
The station will reopen in the spring of 2016.
MBTA General Manager Beverly Scott was handing out flyers at the station on Tuesday to remind commuters of the closure.
During the station closure, both Blue and Green Line trains will pass through Government Center Station but will not stop there.
If your trip usually included Government Center Station, an additional ten to fifteen minutes will be tacked onto travel times.
