Hanover Police Investigate Apparent Assault On Bike Trail

HANOVER (CBS) --- Residents in Hanover are concerned after a woman was reportedly assaulted on a bike path, Sunday afternoon.

The Colby Phillips bike path is across the street from the Hanover Middle School on Pleasant Street. Police say the alleged victim was jogging on the path when the two men approached and assaulted her.

Officers conducted a search of the area but no suspects were found. There were no further details of the reported assault available on Monday.

One suspect is described as a white male, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a muscular build. Police said the victim reported he was wearing a dark hoodie, light gray sweat pants and his face was covered. He was wearing a gold necklace and described as having a heavy tan line on his neck.

The second suspect was also described as a white male, about 6-foot-2 with a muscular build. He was wearing a dark baseball hat with a white "CG" emblem, dark sweat pants, white running shoes with red laces. Police said he was also described as having very pale skin and freckles on his hands.

Police have increased patrols in the area.
