Report: Patriots Sign Darrelle Revis

BOSTON (CBS) - Hours after he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, cornerback Darrelle Revis has reportedly signed with the New England Patriots.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots and Revis have reached a one-year, $12 million deal.

Revis, considered the best corner in the NFL, has 21 interceptions over his seven-year career and has been named First Team All-Pro three times.

He played in all 16 regular season games for the Buccaneers in 2013, picking off two passes while recording 11 pass deflections and two forced fumbles.

Though he was in his first season after knee surgery and was playing in a zone defense, NFL analysis site Pro Football Focus noted that among starting cornerbacks, Revis ranked first in overall grade, fifth in coverage grade and first in yards allowed.
