Bristol Community College Locked Down Briefly For Report Of Armed Intruder

FALL RIVER (CBS) ---  Bristol Community College was placed under lock down briefly for reports of an armed intruder in one of the school's buildings.

The armed intruder was allegedly reported in the "G Building."

Students were told to "shelter in place" around 10:15 a.m. The all clear was given shortly before 11 a.m.

Shortly after the lock down ended, the college released the following statement:

"There was a report of an individual with a weapon on the Fall River Campus at 10:15 a.m. today, Tuesday, February 11, 2014. The campus was locked down and all ordered to shelter in place. The report was investigated by the Campus Police and the Fall River Police. It turned out to be an erroneous report, and the College resumed normal operations at 10:45 a.m."

Police have not said whether any arrests were made.
