Car Crashes Through South Boston Building
SOUTH BOSTON (CBS) - Fire officials were on the scene of a crash in South Boston Saturday morning.
Officials say a Mercury Grand Marquis plowed through a building on East Broadway.
According to fire officials, the car was across the street in the Rite Aid parking lot when the driver put it in reverse.
The vehicle traveled out of control across Broadway and crashed through the side wall of Jack Conway Realty.
The driver was treated for injuries and transported by EMS. No one else was injured.
Crews on scene believed that a load-bearing wall may have been compromised by the crash. They were waiting to remove the car until the building inspector could arrive and inspect the situation.
