Tanker Truck Driver Cited In Fall River Rollover Crash

FALL RIVER (CBS) -- The driver of a tanker truck that rolled over on Route 24, sparking a massive fire, is now facing charges.

State Police say they have cited the driver Lisa Korch with driving at a speed greater than reasonable and marked lanes violation.

The tanker was carrying more than 11,000 gallons of gasoline when it rolled over Monday on the Presidents Avenue exit ramp from the northbound lanes around 7:15 a.m.

Both sides of the highway were closed for several hours.

Korch is a driver for the J.P. Noonan company. According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the company has had 14 crashes over two years, including a deadly wreck in New Hampshire. The federal safety profile gives the company a "satisfactory" rating.

Facebook photographs from behind the wheel of a tanker, posted on Korch's Facebook page raised some eyebrows in the aftermath of the crash.
