MBTA Bus Driver Charged With OUI In Crash That Severely Injured Man

BOSTON (CBS) ---  An MBTA bus driver has been charged with drunken driving in a crash that severely injured a man.

Thirty-nine-year-old Kathleen Abban is being held on $500,000 bail.

Prosecutors say Abban was driving her SUV Sunday afternoon when she collided with a 68-year-old man near the JFK/UMass T station.

The man remains in intensive care with a serious head injury.

Police say Abban's license was revoked after a breathalyzer showed her blood alcohol level was three-times the legal limit.

It's the second time Abban has been charged with driving drunk.
Abban is currently on unpaid leave pending the completion of the MBTA's investigation. She has worked as a bus driver for the MBTA for 10 years.
