Norton Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash

NORTON (CBS) -- A 61-year-old Norton man died in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, the police said.

At about 2:40 a.m. Saturday, a motor vehicle crash was reported on Richardson Avenue. When police and firefighters arrived, they found a Cadillac CTS had veered off the road and struck a guardrail, the Norton Police reported in a prepared statement.

The driver of the Cadillac, Hernani Branco, 61, of Antone Drive was taken to Rhode Island Hospital by the Norton Fire Department. He later died from his injuries at the hospital, the police said.

No further information on the crash was available Sunday night.
