HYANNIS (CBS) – Two infants were lowered from the second floor of a burning building into the arms of bystanders Saturday afternoon during a two-alarm fire on Main Street in Hyannis, fire officials said.

The fire in the two-story apartment building at 174 Main St. broke out at about 5 p.m. The children’s mother and another person also had to escape from windows to flee the blaze, Hyannis Fire Department officials said, adding no one was hurt in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
