BOSTON (CBS) — The beards that brought them luck during the Red Sox season and through the World Series will soon be gone.
World Series Champions David Ortiz and Shane Victorino, Officer Steve Horgan and one fan will be shaving their beards Monday to Benefit One Fund Boston.
The shaving session will take place at Gillette Headquarters, Monday morning.
Since making their debut over the summer, the beards have been a symbol of team solidarity and Boston Strong pride.
Gillette will be making a $100,000 donation to One Fund Boston and plans to do something special with the facial hair of champions.
