BOSTON (CBS) – Boston College Confessions features anonymous Facebook postings from Boston College students on personal feelings, but one was eye-catching.

Post #7122 is a lengthy entry where a student claims he raped three women on campus writing, “I don’t know what I should do…on the one hand, I know that I need to get help, but on the other hand, I can’t help but be driven to do it again. I have these self-consuming thoughts that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to control.”

It turns out campus officials say the student turned himself in to Boston College police and admitted it was a hoax.

“I was immediately disgusted, disappointed and terrified as a female on campus that someone is actively pursuing other women on campus,” said Chelsea Lennox, a senior who is organizing a forum on campus Thursday night to begin a frank discussion about sexual assault on college campuses. “We’re glad to spark a wider discussion, hoax or not, that needs to be had on college campuses,” said Don Orr, a co-organizer.

Boston College is moving to discipline the student. In an e-mail to the campus Dean of Students Paul Chebator calls the post “very disturbing” and says BC officials were alerted to the post shortly after it appeared. “We take very seriously all allegations of sexual assault,” he wrote.

The post has sparked outrage on the campus, and some students say they’re not convinced it was all a joke. “No one could think that up and not have done it. Who would sit there and type that all out just for fun,” said student Leah Cosgrove.
