Some bosses think “Casual Friday” has morphed into “Casual Monday through Friday.” You may work in an office that allows you to wear jeans and sneakers at the end of the week, but at least one big employer is cracking down on fashion in a big way. The new owners of Newsweek magazine have threatened to suspend workers for looking too casual.
The rules include no jeans, no tee shirts and no sneakers but goes way beyond that. Employees can’t have messy hair or body odor either. And any body piercings, other than earrings, must come out.
Can office dress codes go too far? Do you agree with any of these rules? Would you “not” work somewhere if the dress code was too strict?
