Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Route 4 In Barrington, N.H.

BARRINGTON, N.H. (CBS) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday on the side of Route 4, according to a prepared statement from the N.H. State Police.

At about 1:26 p.m., state police were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Route 4 eastbound. The pedestrian, Raymond Boucher, 59, of Barrington, was killed in the collision, the state police said.

The State Police Technical Accident Reconstruction Unit was dispatched to the scene and determined a box truck-type vehicle had left the travel portion of the eastbound travel lane and struck Boucher, who was standing in the right breakdown lane. It is unknown why the truck left the travel portion of the roadway.

The truck driver, Tyler Rioux, 23, of Norway, Maine, was taken to a hospital as a precaution, the state police said.
