Baby Found Safe In Roxbury After Amber Alert

BOSTON (CBS) – An Amber Alert was issued for a baby girl who was taken from Belvidere Street in Boston Friday night. Police are still searching for the suspect, but the baby has been found safe.

Police are looking for 40-year-old Damond Brown, a black man who is six feet tall and 225 pounds and has a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt, grey basketball shorts and white and green sneakers. Brown is driving a 1999 grey or silver Infinity I30 with MA Reg # 637SM3.

The baby who was taken is seven-month-old Jayden Warren. Jayden’s mother reported the incident to police shortly before 8 p.m. Friday night. The baby was located at McGreevey Way in Boston about three hours later.

Brown is reportedly in a relationship with Jayden’s mother, however Jayden is not Brown’s biological father and was not given permission to take the baby. The girl’s mother says she left Jayden in the car with Brown, while she and two other children went into an ice cream shop. When she came back, the car was gone.

Police say Brown made comments that lead them to believe the baby was in danger.

Brown has an active warrant out of Boston District Court for an Assault and Battery along with an active default warrant out of the Suffolk Superior Court for drug distribution.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Boston Police Operations Section at (617) 343-4600, or the Boston Police District 4 Detectives at (617) 343-5619
