16-Year-Old Struck, Killed While Riding Bicycle In Wellfleet

WELLFLEET (CBS) ----  A 16-year-old is dead after being struck by a car as he was riding his bike Saturday afternoon.

It happened at 12:37 p.m. on Route 6 near Cumberland Farms.

Police say Miles Tibbetts was taken to Cape Cod Hospital and then flown to Beth Israel Hospital were he died.

Police believe Tibbetts was crossing the street when he was struck by a green Honda Accord driven by a 76-year-old Wellfleet resident.

The accident is under investigation. No charges have yet been filed.
