Marathon Bombing Victim Honored At Harbor Park

BOSTON (AP) — A woman killed in the Boston Marathon bombings is being honored at one of her favorite places.

The east gazebo on Spectacle Island Park in Boston Harbor will be dedicated to 29-year-old Krystle Campbell of Medford. Campbell was one of three people killed April 15 when two bombs were placed near the marathon's finish line.

Campbell was catering manager at the Jasper White's Summer Shack, a seasonal cafe on the island. Cafe owner Jeff Dugan said the gazebo was one of Campbell's favorite places to relax.

The Boston Parks and Recreation Commission voted Monday to honor Campbell with a memorial plaque on the gazebo after her colleagues and other advocates requested it.

The 105-acre offshore park is overseen by the city, state, the National Park Service and the Boston Harbor Islands Alliance.
