Canton Police Searching For Suspected Serial Dunkin' Donuts Robber

CANTON (CBS) -- Police are asking the public's help to identify a man who held up a Dunkin' Donuts on Neponset Street and may be the suspect in similar robberies.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say a man wearing a black or blue jacket or sweatshirt with a large horizontal green stripe, dark colored jeans and a ski mask, entered the Dunkin' Donuts and showed a gun, demanding money.

No one else was in the store at the time, police say.

After the robbery, the man allegedly fled out the door and into a getaway car.

Police say this is the second time that store has been robbed within a few weeks. Police say the previous robbery was similar to the one Wednesday night.

Police in Avon say earlier that same night, they received a report a man fitting the description in the Canton robbery, attempted to rob an Avon Dunkin' Donuts.

The man allegedly left when he noticed other people in the store.Police believe the same man may be responsible for other area robberies of Dunkin' Donuts stores.
