Mass. Man Charged In NH 1991 Stabbing Death

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A Massachusetts man has been charged with stabbing a New Hampshire woman to death more than two decades ago.

The New Hampshire attorney general's office said Tuesday that a grand jury has indicted 46-year-old Craig Conkey of Shirley, Mass. He is accused of killing 30-year-old Theresa Reed, who was found dead in her apartment in Plymouth in September 1991 after her friends grew concerned when she failed to show up for work. The case went unsolved for years, and was re-opened last year by the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit.

Conkey, who is incarcerated in Massachusetts, is charged with first-degree murder alleging that he killed Reed during a burglary, as well as an alternate charge of reckless second-degree murder. Prosecutors say they will seek his transfer to New Hampshire.
