MARION, Mass. (CBS) — Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a woman walking two dogs on County Road, seriously injuring the pedestrian and killing one of the pets.

A witness reported seeing a late 1980s or early 1990s Toyota or Honda sedan leaving the scene of the crash, possibly heading onto Mary’s Pond Road into Rochester, police said.

One of the dogs died at the scene and the other was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment.
