The heat peaked today with a high of 99 degrees in Boston which set a new record…the old one for the day was 98.  We narrowly missed 100 degrees which hasn’t happened since July 2011…two years ago.  While the heat maxed out today, tomorrow will still be very hot…highs again will climb into the middle 90s but that will be the last days of the heat wave.  A line of strong and potential severe storms will whip through late in the afternoon and early evening…damaging wind will be a possibility.  Following the storms a coldfront will sweep through Saturday night and temperatures and humidity will instantly drop.  The air will feel so much better beginning Sunday and lasting into the middle of next week.

Enjoy the weekend.
