Bruins Announce Preseason Schedule, Including Home-And-Home Against Red Wings

BOSTON (CBS) -- The city of Boston is in the midst of a summer heat wave, and it feels like the season just ended, but hockey is nevertheless just around the corner.

The Bruins on Tuesday released their preseason schedule for the upcoming 2013-14 season, perhaps in an effort to provide cool thoughts of cold rinks to fans in the area.

Training camp will begin Sept. 11 at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, and the team will travel to Montreal on Sept. 16 for its first preseason game of the year. The TD Garden will host the new divisional-rival Detroit Red Wings on Sept. 19 for Boston's first home game as the first part of a home-and-home.

The complete preseason schedule is below. All times are Eastern.

Monday, Sept. 16: Boston Bruins at Montreal Canadiens (Bell Centre), 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 17: Boston Bruins at Washington Capitals (1st Mariner Arena, Baltimore, Md.), 7 p.m.

Thursday, September 19: Boston Bruins vs. Detroit Red Wings (TD Garden), 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 21: Boston Bruins at Detroit Red Wings (Joe Louis Arena), 7 p.m.

Monday, September 23: Boston Bruins vs. Washington Capitals (TD Garden), 7 p.m.

Thursday, September 26: Boston Bruins at Winnipeg Jets (MTS Center) 8 p.m.

Friday, September 27: Boston Bruins vs. Winnipeg Jets in Saskatoon (Credit Union Centre) 8 p.m.
