Police Investigating Body Found Near Hyde Park Railroad Tracks

BOSTON (CBS) -- Police are investigating a body found Monday near commuter rail line tracks along the banks of the Neponset River in the Hyde Park neighborhood of the city, officials said.

At about 7:20 p.m., police requested Mass Bay Commuter Rail service suspended on train tracks near the intersection of Truman Highway and Dana Avenue.

As off about 7:40, commuter rail trains 775 and 776 were experiencing 25-30 minutes delays because of the police activity, a Mass Bay Commuter Rail spokesperson said.

The site where the body was found is believed to be state property, so the Massachusetts State Police is expected to lead the investigation, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said.

The condition of the body makes it unlikely that a positive identification or cause of death will be determined Monday night, the DA's office said.
