Carver Police Find 'Large Amount' Of Heroin, Cocaine, Cash During Traffic Stop
CARVER (CBS) – A traffic stop in Carver on Friday ended with both the driver and a passenger facing charges.
Police say they pulled over a car for speeding around 9:30 p.m. A passenger in the car, Florence Raymond, 28, of Carver took off running from the car.
Raymond is known to police, and reportedly has a history of carrying guns, so officers chased him down.
During a struggle to capture him, police say they pepper sprayed Raymond. He was treated at Jordan Hospital for minor injuries.
Officers say Raymond was carrying a large amount of heroin and cocaine and about $500 in cash.
They also found an additional $23,000 in cash in the car. Raymond faces a number of drug dealing charges, along with a charge of assault and battery on a police officer.
He's being held on $100,000 cash bail.
The driver, Tara Fisher, 26 of Wareham, was also arrested. She was charged with giving a false name to police, operating with a suspended license and speeding.
