Police Trying To Find Missing Newton Teenager

NEWTON (CBS) -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating 16-year old Ana Lopez of Newton.

The girl last spoke with her mother on the phone Wednesday, when she was near her home in Chestnut Hill. She told her mother was leaving and has not been seen or heard from since then, police said in a prepared statement.

Ana is described as a Hispanic female, 5-feet-2-inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with brown hair that has blonde and red highlights. She also has two piercing's on each side of her lower lip.

The teen has been known to frequent Harvard Square, Boston Common and Salem.

Ana's mother has told police she fears her daughter may be in danger.
