Police: Driver Asleep Behind The Wheel Crashes Into Merrimack Kiosk

MERRIMACK, NH (CBS) – Police say a 22-year-old man fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into an information kiosk in Merrimack early Sunday morning.

The Merrimack Chamber of Commerce informational structure was destroyed in the crash at about 5:45am.

Police say the driver, Matthew Jones, was operating a 2004 Acura TL on Daniel Webster Highway and went over a curb, onto the grass and just narrowly missed a flag pole and fire hydrant.

Jones was not injured in the crash.

The accident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Merrimack Police Department.
