Centerville Woman Arraigned In Same Courthouse Where She's Accused Of Dealing Drugs

BARNSTABLE (CBS) - A Centerville woman was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Friday over accusations that she was dealing drugs inside that same courthouse.

Police say the woman, Samantha Best, 27, would show up at the courthouse on days that a particular prisoner had scheduled court appearances.

Each time, officials say she would give prescription drugs to that prisoner, who would smuggle them back into the Barnstable House of Correction.

On Friday, officers set up surveillance cameras at the courthouse and watched Best allegedly attempt to hand over a plastic bag that contained 13 pills to the prisoner.

The prisoner involved has not been identified.

Best was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute class B, class C, and class E narcotics.

She's being held on $10,000 cash bail.

Police say additional charges are possible.
