Police: Hudson Stop & Shop Scammed By Man Posing As Officer
HUDSON (CBS) - Police are trying to identify a man who scammed the town's Stop and Shop out of $75 in gift cards by posing as a police officer.
Officials say the man identified himself as Hudson Police Detective Anthony Mederios and told employees that he was running a fundraiser for drug awareness.
The same man returned to the store later and used the gift cards to purchase items from the store.
The Hudson Police Department says it is not currently running any fundraisers.
The department also says it does not have any officers named Anthony Mederios.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact them.
