Police: Worcester Teen Carrying $148,000 In Cash Says He Stole It From Parked Car

WORCESTER (CBS) – Three teenagers are facing charges, and there are a number of unanswered questions following a short police chase in Worcester on Sunday that ended with the arrest of a man carrying $148,030 in cash in two shopping bags.

State Police say a Trooper started chasing a speeding car on Route 290 east around 7:15 a.m.

The car took off down exit 15 and crashed into a business at the intersection of Shrewsbury Street and Prentice Street.

The four people in the car took off running.

One of them, Jabriel Nabulsi, 18, of Worcester was carrying two shopping bags full of cash when he was arrested, according to State Police. Nabulsi told police he stole the money from a parked car in Worcester. Nabulsi was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Karla Ocasio, 17, of Worcester was also charged with disorderly conduct.

A juvenile male was also arrested.

The driver, later identified as, Michael Tisdell, 17, of Worcester was charged with reckless driving and other driving offenses.

Police have not said whether they have been able to find the owner of the money.
