Boston Police Ready To Return Property Left At Marathon Bombing Scene

BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Police Department is ready to return property that was left at the scene of the Boston Marathon bombings. Investigators have reviewed the property and determined that "there is no evidentiary value" and can be returned.

There are three ways to inquire about your property:

  1. Via email at lostproperty.bpd@cityofboston.gov
  2. By calling the Mayor's Hotline at 617-635-4500
  3. By visiting the Return of Property Center at Boston Police Department Headquarters in the Media Room 8 a.m. to 8 p.m from Tuesday, 4/23 to Friday, 4/26.

Boston Police detectives say they will deliver items to owners in the greater Boston area, and will coordinate with other police departments to deliver items outside of the city.

If you are picking up your property at police headquarters, parking will be available in the horseshoe and on Tremont Street. Officers will take lost property reports if BPD does not have it.
