MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Police say a Manchester man has been charged with attempted murder for shooting at a police officer during a foot chase after a traffic stop in the New Hampshire city.
Manchester Police have identified the suspect as 21-year-old Garrett Allen Gauthier.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Carl Stevens reports
Police say they stopped a car in the area of Summerville and Wilson streets at about 10:20 a.m. Friday and Gauthier bolted from the vehicle.
Police say he fired at the pursuing officer, who fired back. A second officer joined the chase and Gauthier was arrested without injuries.
Authorities say Gauthier, who has several active warrants including for forgery and jumping bail, also has been charged with possession of prescription drugs with intent to distribute and falsifying physical evidence.
