Methuen Man In Fight With Wife Crashes SUV Upright On Deck

METHUEN (CBS) - It's the kind of crash you only see in the movies.

Police say a Methuen man was in the middle of an argument with his wife when he lost control of his sports utility vehicle Tuesday.

The SUV flew into the air and landed upright against a house on East Street.

Police say the driver was injured in the crash but still tried to run from officers who showed up to help.

Investigators say the driver was speeding and possibly drunk at the time of the crash.

The man is still recovering at an area hospital.

Police have not released his name or said if charges will be filed. There is no word yet on the extent of the damage to the deck.
