NFL free agency officially starts on Tuesday, March 12th and many in New England are focused on Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker. There are conflicting reports other there on where the receiver will sign a deal. One says Welker is not going to sign a deal with the Pats before testing the market in free agency and another said that the team and Wes are close on a deal.
Bert Breer of the NFL Network spoke with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich about what the future of Welker might be, the Jets and Darrelle Revis.
Things could have got slightly more expensive for the Patriots if they are looking to re-sign Wes Welker due to the fact the Dolphins just re-signed wide receiver Brian Hartline to a five-year, $30.775 million deal. Hartline is younger than Welker, but the Maimi receiver’s production is nowhere near the Welker’s. What does this mean for Wes?
How does Breer think that the talks are going between the Patriots and the wide receiver? Is the trust fully back?
Plus, will the Jets trade Darrelle Revis? Breer wrote that Revis would like to stay in New York, what do you think the Jets do?
