BOSTON (AP) — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Michael Sullivan has delivered voter signatures to the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s office.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Lana Jones reports
The former federal and state prosecutor said Wednesday that he was “humbled” by the efforts of volunteers who collected more than 22,000 signatures, well above the 10,000 certified signatures required to qualify for the April 30 primary ballot.
Republican state Rep. Daniel Winslow plans to drop off his signatures later Wednesday. An aide to a third GOP contestant Gabriel Gomez said the campaign has been delivering signatures in batches over the past few weeks.
The two Democratic candidates — Congressmen Stephen Lynch and Edward Markey — have already delivered their signatures.
The special election to fill the seat previously held by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is scheduled for June 25.
